Thankful through trials

Thankful through trials

November 26th Guest speaker - Kim Ickler Nichols, “After actively growing up in Trinity and graduating Trinity Youth Group, I went on to attend Messiah College. I graduated Messiah in 2011 with a degree in Youth Ministries. Following graduation I spent 5 months as a missionary in Swaziland, South Africa. Upon returning home, I served for two years as Pastor of Children and Youth at Grantham Brethren in Christ in Mechanicsburg, PA. Currently I am living with my husband in Lancaster pursing my passions through our local church.”

On Sunday, November 26th we welcomed Kim Ickler Nichols to the pulpit.  Her message, "Thankful through trials" encouraged us to be thankful, even when faced with tough times.

    1.  Instead of "Where was God when this was happening?", ask "Who is God?"  God is Good!  She quoted Natalie Grant, who said before her surgery to remove cancerous tumors from her thyroid, "my outcome does not determine His goodness."

    2.  What can I gain from this difficult time?  Take broken moments and build something new.

    3. What can I give?  Turn your prison into a pulpit and share God's goodness.  God is calling you out of your ashes to paint a story of beauty.

Thankfulness is a choice and a wonderful opportunity to share God's love for us.
