A View with a Story

Winter's Gift

Posted by Jady Conroy on

This wintery photo from 2013 shows the view we have down through the woods. In springtime, all this vegetation leafs out at an alarming rate. Soon it is as if a green curtain has been drawn across the stage and summer’s events are played out against a verdant background. Then, as the leaves drop in fall, we see a little more behind the curtain each day, Finally, in winter, we can see across the hills towards the northwest and enjoy the beauty of sunsets once again.

Sometimes we get tired of the harshness and stark colors of winter, but on a day like this one, with the ice sparkling in the sun and all the imperfections of the landscape covered with a fresh blanket of snow, it felt as if we were looking out from inside God’s own chandelier! Oh, what an artist!  God is good, all the time.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”  ~James 1:17
